tṛṇād api sunīcena taror api sahiṣṇunā amāninā mānadena kīrtanīyaḥ sadā hariḥ

“One who thinks himself lower than the grass, who is more tolerant than a tree, and who does not expect personal honor yet is always prepared to give all respect to others can very easily always chant the holy name of the Lord.”

Low self esteem – is to think we are not capable of anything and devaluing ourselves and our abilities

Free will – is the minute independence we have to make choices and later suffer consequences of these choices. if free will is misused it can lead to arrogance that I am the controller of everything and I can create, maintain and destroy whatever and whenever I want (for eg: my relationships, career, situations etc)

Humility – is the foundation of true spirituality, without humility we cannot gain knowledge. Until we know that we don’t know, why should we want to learn? is to understand that I am a part and parcel of Krishna, who is great and grand and we can offer our part in his service. We feel valued in service to Krishna. True humility is the absence of false ego, which makes one think in terms of I and mine in relation to this material body and the things, relations, titles and so forth, which are attached to this material body, made up of the gross and subtle elements. Humility is honesty, appreciation, and happiness because we know our true identity and serve in that mood. Humility is different to pride, it brings freedom from the craving for external honor and empowers us to act for our and everyone’s longterm good
